David McEachran and family
« on: Monday 02 April 07 22:08 BST (UK) »

I am trying to trace the details of the families of  DAVID MCEACHRAN who married SUSAN HALL, 1919. at Rubislaw, Aberdeen.
His Father was Alexander McEachran a fish curer.(Deceased) and his mother Jane Sutherland. details from the marriage certificate.
The address was Queen St, Peterhead, where David was living. Occupation A Grain Accountant, and Lieut RAF.
His wife Susan was a Hospital Sister.
My GGG Grandfather Lachlan McEachran born about 1770, was listed as a Chelsea Pensioner, and I am trying to trace details of all his descendants, who seemed to have originated from Macduff, Banffshire. Any help would be appreciated,   Yonder

I am not sure what other information you are looking for.

I found the family in the 1901 census

York Street, Peterhead, Aberdeen

Jane McEachran Head, Widowed aged 47 Born Peterhead Aberdeenshire

Mary McEachran Daughter, Single aged 21 Infant Teacher Born Leith Edinburgh

James S McEachran Son Single aged 19  Bank Clerk born Peterhead, Aberdeenshire

David S McEachran Son Single aged 10 Scholar Born Peterhead, Aberdeenshire

Alexander McEachran died August 7th 1897 aged

he was listed as being a Shipping Agend and married to Jeannie Sutherland

Address at time of death 46 Queen Street.

Parents listed as being George McEachran Fishcurer (deceased) and Jean McEachran Nee Radford

Alexander and Jane Sutherland were married 31 December 1872 in Peterhead

is there anything you particularly are looking for.

Best wishes

Hi Mo, Many thanks for your information, I have some of those details but not all.I hope some day to make a connection with another family member who might have more details about the earlier history of the McEachran clan.
I have accumulated a considerable amount of details of the family, but Lachlan McEachran,C 1770. the Chelsea Pensioner, and his life remain a secret.
Most of the McEachrans seem to come from Camberwell, so why was he in Macduff? I shall never know I am sure. Christian his wife, on the 1841, 1851 census listed as a widow, I have traced the children, and some of their descendants.
I notice you state Claines in Worcestershire as being one of your research places.
I know it well.
It is a little village with a pub joined onto the churchyard!

Thanks Mo, I will sort my folks out properly, and I would be grateful for any help you can give,
Likewise I live on the outskirts of Worcestershire, now we have been renamed West Midlands, in the reorganising!
If there is any help you would like in lookups down here I can do, I would be pleased to help.

Regards Yonder.
