CHAMPION family, 1871
« on: Friday 06 April 07 09:52 UTC (UK) »

Hi All,

can anybody help me with this one please (my uncle's family) ?

I have found the family in the 1881 census (in Lanbeth, Surrey):
Ann    Champion, Head, W, Female, 51, Marlborough, Wilts., Laundress
Chas. Henry   Champion, Son, Male, 14, Lambeth, Surrey, Grocers assistent
Geo. Arthur   Champion, Son, Male, 12, Lambeth, Surrey, Scholar

can anybody see them in 1871 ??  Most likely Lambeth, Surrey, as well, judging by the kids' place of birth.

Thanks,
Bob

I don't think 4+ minutes for a look-up qualifies as a record on RootsChat  Grin

Any chance of finding William in 1861 and 1851 ??

Or if you (anybody) really want a challenge, how about Ann in 1861 and 1851

There are two possibles on freeBMD:

1860 William C. and Ann Fisher in Marlborough
1867 William C. and Ann Marlow in Fordingbridge

Tati,  you are wonderful  Kiss Kiss

Not just the name of Ann's husband, but another two generations of Champions.

If I were from Yorkshire, I would say (something like) "Eee Lass, yer reet champion !"
(translated to "normal" english": you're great !!)

Just to complete the picture, Ann's mother Harriett is married to a Job Mills age 25 by 1851.
She's 40, b. Wiltshire Wroughton, still living at Ogbourne St Andrews Rockley.

This is my Uncle's family; my Aunt's family were from the Continent and much more difficult to trace.

Once again, many, many thanks
