Hi Carol,
I am trying to get all the details I have from John Ross up to the present in a form you can understand.  I'm afraid I don't have a programme to build a family tree.  Up until now I have just put it all in a table on 'Word' but now have so much on several branches of both Steve's family and mine that it's hard to fit on!!
Hope to email it to you in the next day or so but we started decorating the stairs and landing last night so we'll see.....

No hurry, just whenever you get time.  I do this in fits and starts too.  Have to be in the mood to get your mind around all the names.
Bye for now Carol

Hi there
I have Mary Whyte born c1819, daughter of  Donald Whyte and Mary Ross in my tree. The connection is through her husband, Hector Sutherland. One of his sisters, Barbara, married into a branch of my Morrison family.

Hello Airdlass
Mary Whyte was born 25 April 1812 Eddrachillis, Sutherland, Scotland. I have 8 children for Hector and Mary, but do not have any information on Hectors family i.e. parents or siblings.  If I can help you in any way please contact me personally.
Regards
Carol

Hi poppysmum,

This is a quick one for you.  I have been contacted through Genesreunited by a man called Donald Love as we have matching Whyte ancestors in Durness.  He is the GG grandson of Hector Whyte and Mary McIntosh.  I told him about you, (you must be 'cousins') and he has asked if I can put him in contact with you.  If you would like to contact him, let me know and I will try to arrange it.

Hi Caroline,

Donald's full name is Donald MacIntosh Whyte Love!!

Do you have an email address I can give him?  If so, send me a personal message.  Otherwise I could tell him about this Rootschat website and guide him to this 'Whyte' page.
