1891/1901 census COMPLETED
« on: Sunday 08 April 07 13:02 BST (UK) »

Hi There

I am trying to find out what happened to GG Grandad's half brother Abraham Frearson born 1863 Worthington, Lecestershire.

In 1871 he is with his parents Jane (nee Tivey) and Abraham in Worthington RG10/3247; Folio: 22; Page: 10

In 1881 he is with his brother in law* Joseph Halliday (of sorts) in Hugglescote & Donnington ~ an apprentice bricklayer. Trancscribed as Frearon RG11/3142; Folio: 97; Page: 58

(*Joseph married Abraham's half sister Ann Frearson in 1859 - she died in 1861 and he remarried to Harriett)

From then on I cant find him!  Nor can I find a death for him Huh

Can anyone spare a little time help me look? Roll Eyes

Cheers Kiss

You may have seen it already but Ancestry has a family tree which has Abraham Frearson b approx 1862 marriage to Edith Jones in NSW, Australia in 1887.  Could that be him?   I can't see him in 1891 onwards on any census or BMD either which might suggest he emigrated.

Hi Jan,

Cazay has kindly given you the URL for the NSW BDM records (and details of Abraham's arrival in Australia).  There are rich pickings in the BDMs.

There is the marriage there, in 1887, of an Abraham FREARSON to an Edith C JONES.

There is the death there, in 1941, of an Abraham FREARSON, parents Abraham and Jane.
And the death, in 1963, of an Edith Charlotte FREARSON.

And the births of three FREARSONs with father Abraham, and mother Edith C Norman, George, Gladys).
And the marriages of a George and of a Gladys; and the death of Gladys under her married name.
And the deaths of three FREARSONs (Norman, George, Emma) with father Abraham, and mother E, Edith or Edith Charlotte.

Hi millymcb,

The link you gave sends me to a "secure" Ancestry site which asks me to log in or to register for free access.

When I try to register for a free account, it tells me that my email address is already being used by an Ancestry member (oh yeah! - I have no doubt I am the only person with my particular email address, and I know very well that I have never subscribed to Ancestry).  It asks me to log in with my password - and permits one to click on "forgot your password".  Once one does so, it says that:
"An Email has been sent to the Email address specified. Contained within the Email are links which will automatically log you in and allow you to change the password for your account. ..."

But no email ever arrives ...

Ancestry strikes yet again ...

The tree doesn't give much info anyway. Just Abraham Frearson b abt 1862 marries Edith C Jones b about 1867. Married in Newtown, NSW, Australia in 1887.

No records or sources attached or any other details. It's not showing up a tree of where this person fits in but there are lots of Jones and some living Jones listed.

I could mail them for you if you like and see if they reply (although there are no guarantees with Ancestry trees of course) Roll Eyes

Hi Jan
Got myself a little confused there and thought it was you posting that you couldn't access the site...but have now seen it was JAP.  Glad you found it.  Good Luck with the mail... I've sent a few to Ancestry tree holders and none of them have ever got back to me!
