Elizabeth HILL married James SMITH at St. Leonard's Church Semley Wilts on 27 March 1779.
The register says Elizabeth was "of this parish" (ie Semley) but this does not necessarily mean she was born there, but at least residing there at the time of the marriage.
There are no HILL's in the baptism registers in Semley.
Does anyone, anywhere in Wilts, have the name HILL in their tree?
Elizabeth possibly worked in service in Semley but came from a nearby parish.

That's interesting because I have estimated my Elizabeth Hill's birth as c1756 so Mary born 1749 could be a sister! Could you tell me where you got that information from please. Ain't it a luffly sunny day! Jan
