There are also these baptisms to the same parents.
Thomas 1 March 1835 (This Thomas probably died young) Alice 27 May 1838 James 1 Nov 1840 Samuel 18 June 1843 Thomas 19 October 1845 Anne 29 June 1851
There is also a marriage:
12 October 1832, Goldington, Bedford Samuel Dorrington & Sarah Denton
And another baptism:
26 March 1813, Goldington Sarah Denton Parents: James Denton & Hannah
All the above are extracted records. There is another one for Sarah Denton's baptism giving mothers name as Hannah Mayhew (Member submitted)
Renhold is 2 miles NNE of Goldington.
Hope this helps.
Sheila

Bethan
We went over this in Aug 2005 when I gave you the same 1841 census information that Sheila's just given you, plus the Hensman family who lived 3 doors away. I don't understand how you now say you have hit a brick wall when we demolished it nearly 2 years ago!

The Hensman and Dorrington families were connected in that on 12 Oct 1803 Thomas Dorrington married Ann Hensman at Goldington. I suspect these were the grandparents of Joseph Hensman Dorrington, ie they were Samuel Dorrington's parents. I think Thomas and Ann were non-conformists which is why their children don't seem to have been baptised as infants in the established church - see the IGI for the birth (not baptism) of James Dorrington in 1805 recorded at the Old Meeting House Mill Lane-Independent, Bedford. It would also explain why Samuel Dorrington's baptism wasn't until 1826 - if you check the parish register microfilm it wouldn't surprise me to find a comment that he was a teenager.
Regards
David
