Hi Joe
Thank you, yes I do have the record from the IGI. On the 51 census David states born Grt Missenden so I guess it could be either.
I am hoping some kind person can help me with his parents as I am trying to establish just how far my line has to go back before I connect with a rather famous person. Or don't, as the case may be.
Kind Regards Maddie

Great Missenden parish registers are on the IGI Chesham are not. There are two David Dwights in Chesham on the censuses of the same age. One born Chesham married to Mary the other born Great Missenden and married to Sarah, both agricultural labourers.
The are other Dwights baptised in Great Missenden so it might be worth searching the register to see whether David was missed on the IGI. The Buckinghamshire Family History Society have a baptismal index which covers Great Missenden but you could ask them for any David Dwights from around that period, just to see if his baptism is recorded in an adjacent parish (I don't think they have coverage of Chesham St. Mary for the period you are interested in).

I am going to the RO on Wednesday so can have a look for you. I see he was born 1814/1815 on all the censuses, so its more likely 1814. Also if that was his death in 1866, that also says 1814. Typically the IGI has men marrying at aged 25.

Hi Valda & Jo
Thank you both for the help & Jo, I would really appreciate a look up if you have the time.
Yes, that was his death in 1866 so you are probably correct in his age estimate.
Many thanks in advance.
Kind Regards Maddie

I go to the RO most weeks. They are not open Mondays and Tuesdays is usually the day when the FHS people go and use their PC and I like to have a quick search on there if I don't find anything in the obvious places. I'll get back to you Wednesday late PM.

There are no David Dwights baptised 1812 to 1818 in Chesham or Great Missenden. I also did a name search for all of bucks on the FHS database and none came up.
There are several Dwights baptised in the time frame in both places.
Chesham :
Elizabeth 3/4/1814 to Daniel and Mary William 12/6/1814 to John and Hannah Charlotte 12/2/1815 to William and Elizabeth Elizabeth 23/3/1817 to James and Sophia of Chartridge
Gt Miss
Penelope to John and Elizabeth 8/8/1813 born 2/4/1813 Lydia to John and Elizabeth 8/8/1813 born 6/7/1813 (I suspect one of the births is from the previous year) Elizabeth to Joseph and Frances 9/8/1818 born 9/7/1816 Maria to Joseph and Frances 9/8/1818 born 9/7/1818
Both the latter were from Lee Common.

Meant to say there is a non conformist church in Gt Miss which I forgot to check. So will check it next time I go. There is also 1 in Chesham but it is not filmed so I will have to check the originals if no luck at Gt Miss.
