My tree has brought me to Lincolnshire.

William J Ellis born in Gt Grimsby 1849.

I have located him on several of the census's 1901, 1891, 1881 and the 1871.   

Details of the 1891 Census are:

William J Ellis aged 42 Umbrella Maker born Gt Grimsby, Lincs
Ellen              aged 33 Umbrella Cover Maker born Beverley, Yorks
James            aged 12   Scholar                     born Beverley, Yorks
Jessie            aged 10mnths                          born  Grantham, Lincs

I was slighty put out by the ages of the children and on the later census's they are not listed.  In 1901 there are 4 other children listed.

George S Ellis aged 8 born in Ilkeston, Derbyshire
Eliza A Ellis   aged 6 born in Nottingham
Lizzie Ellis   aged 4 born in Nottingham
Sabrina Ellis aged 1 born in Grantham, Lincs.

In 1881 William is listed as married but living in a lodging house in Lancashire.
