I am trying to find any info on my great grandma`s family, her name was Mary A Mackel, and she married Frederick Robert Brewis. any earlier info on this family would be great.

A bit tricky. I can see a birth in Durham:
Mary Ann Mackel
June quarter 1894 
Sunderland 10a 682 

There's a possible Mary A McCale in Brandon and Byshottles on the 1901 census, but her birthplace is given as Brandon, which is in the Durham registration district. There's also a Mary A McCale in Benwell Northumberland, birthplace Denton Burn.

I think you will need her marriage cert (= her father's name) to be able to identify her on the 1901 census.
Any idea when she married, or at least when her first child was born?

Reference is Sunderland 10a 1217

Without the certificate I'm afraid we are stuck ... (though given the marriage is in the Sunderland registration district, the 1894 birth doesn't look too bad...)
