At last a chance to try and produce an attachment! Let's hope I don't produce something massive.
Martha/Marsha Fido (popularity as a personal name in U.S. for Marsha from 1920s, Britain later) and Martha Field - same GRO clerk handwriting.
Whatever the name is it is unlikely to be a mistranscription of Nathaniel.

Sorry lizdb but no-one's opinion is merely humble. An opinion that is valid and evidenced is as good if not better than others.
