Samson Sutton Kent lookup please

I have just recieved my grandparents marriage cert. Harriett Sutton married Cornelius White in July 1899 in Portsmouth.Her father is listed as Samson Sutton, fisherman. Family legend had it that she came from Kent and her father was a fisherman,
but I have no idea where in Kent. I can only find one Samson in Hastings ( St Clements ) widowed in 1881 living with his daughter Emma Dibley, and one death in 1907 in Hastings. I know there were several children, one I think was called Sarah, but I have no other names. I don't have much concrete evidence to go on, but I am hoping someone out there can point me in the right direction. Here,s hoping.

How old were the bride & groom and who were the witnesses?

Hi,  Harriett was 21, Cornelius was 20. wittnesses Ebenezer White (grooms father ) and Mary Ann Hewitt. Married in the parish of Portsmouth. Living at 6 Warblinton Street.

1901 census Harriet gives her birthplace as Folkestone, which is in Kent. Cant see her initially in 1881 or 1891.

The Samson born 1814 is possibly a bit old to be Harriet's father, but may be her grandfather. The IGI has a marriage for a Samson SUTTON and Jane SMITH 23 July 1870 at St Clements, Hastings, which could be Harriet's parents. If Samson was a fisherman he may have moved around a bit looking for work.

and a possibly-interesting birth.

Frederick Samson Sutton     1896     Sep  qtr         Malling,   Kent

Not sure if he's listed as Fredk in 1901 though (b Offham, kent)
