South Derbyshire BDM site for Baptism's, Marriage's and Burial's for the South Derbyshire district

I found the following comments in the UKBMD lists:

I find the presentation on the following site http://www.southderbyshirebdm.co.uk/home.asp excellent, certificate entries
provided in clear presentation, search facilities easy to operate and with
each facility, birth marriage or death there is always the "latest" option
providing all the newest entries for the last month.

Any comments?

I'll add this to the Derbyshire page on UKBMD.

Some comments:
As there's no year of event on primary output you have to wade through each one
in turn looking for the year.
The method of selecting the surname is fine whilst you have a small amount
of data, but when you start to get large numbers of names and variants this
drop-down list approach will become to cumbersome.
Can the primary output be sorted by first-name alphabetically?

As these are Baptisms, Burials and Marriages, I assume that you mean
'parish register entries' rather than civil registration 'certificate entries' ?

The links page references South Cheshire Family History Society which
no longer exists as a separate society.

However, a useful addition nevertheless.

It is a potentially useful site but I am not so sure about the presentation,
particularly the summary search results which are rather too limited (or certainly
will be as the volume of data increases) and require a leap of intuition before you
realise that the full details are accessed by clicking the entry number. Once you
get to the detailed result, it is very clear though.

It is also unfortunate that they use the term "BDM" in the site name since these
church records are really baptisms, marriages and burials.

I also like the "Latest" listing but it is difficult to see how this will operate in
the longer term - how long will data remain "latest" and will it cope with mixed
events?
