Would anyone with access to Bishop's Stortford PRs please look up the baptism of Samuel SEARLE C.1818

I have his details from 1851 onwards, but need to know parents to confirm if I have the right Samuel in 1841 census

Hi Frances,

You're a star, that is my Samuel's father (but I'm hoping to confirm that when I find his baptism) and grandparents of course.  I have details of them and some of their children's baptisms, just missing the one I need ........ isn't that just the way of things!!

From information given to me, Thomas Searl & Frances had children:
Sarah 1777 William 1779 Elizabeth 1781 Joseph 1782
James 1783 Thomas 1786 Joseph 1790 Samuel 1793 John 1796

I don't have baptisms for either Joseph 1782 and Joseph 1790 although the 2nd Joseph was born Stansted Mountfichet (?) not Bishop's Stortford. 

If you could find the first Joseph and confirm the others I'd be very grateful

I could not find Sarah in 1777 or Joseph in 1782. I wonder why they are not listed when others are for those years?

The Elizabeth I found was Born 24 March 1781 and Christened 29 April 1781 but the parents were Thomas Searle and Joannah Ann

I am assuming that you do already have the others births and christenings so have just added Joseph and also John as his date was one year out.

Born 14 February 1790 Christened 21 April 1790

John Searle
Born 12 February 1797 Christened 19 April 1797

If you did want the others just say the word Smiley

Many thanks for all that, my problem is that I'm going on secondhand information given by another researcher, she did mention William/Joannah Ann also, I think there were two Williams around at the time.  Will double-check on John's date.
