Does anyone have access to the parish records for Dodleston? I am looking for Ann/e/ie Griffith/s born c1842 in Dodleston. The first record I have of her is her marriage in 1869 to George Davies (from Lavister) in Birkenhead. I have been unable to find any sign of her in 1851/61, although I do know from her wedding cert, that her father was James.

I was wondering if anyone could look up her baptism in Dodleston parish recrods, or find her on the census.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Well, she's not using Dodleston as her PoB in 1851 / 61.

The only Ann of the right age witha father James is in Macclesfield - cant read his occupation, it might be Pawnbroker tho ...

You mentioned baptisms .... if nobody comes up with one you may have to get these Birth Certs ... it may be that her father died and mother remarried before 1851 - and she reverted to her actual name on marriage ...

Thanks, Newfy. I had seen the one in Macclesfield, but she is still with her father on the 1891, so definitely isn't the right one. Sad

In 1851/61, she probably wouldn't have been the one filling out the census, they could have put something totally different, who can tell.

I didn't look but when I put in a general census search, I noticed that it cmae up with Ann living with father James in macclesfield in 1891. Its a shame, coz it would have been so much easier if that had been the right one.
