WILLIS family of Long Buckby

I'm looking for information about the following family.

George Willis, born Hellidon c 1856 married Emma Darlow at Daventry in 1883. They had 6 children Sophia, Frederick,Harriett, Florence, Mary & Frank. Emma was originally from Bubbenhall, Warwickshire b 1859.

Hi Arranroots

In the abscence of the 1911 census, I suppose I was hoping that there would be someone on Rootschat researching the children of the marriage!

I have been unable to find a date for Emma's death, and although its possible her son Frank was killed in action in WW1 it doesn't mention her as next of kin.

If I've done my research correctly, Emma Willis (nee Darlow) was my grandfather William's mother. Having given birth to him (illegitimate) some 4 years before her marriage to George Willis. I have been unable to find George & Emma Willis on the 1891 census but the 1901 confirms Bubbenhall as Emma's place of birth. My grandfather was brought up by Emma's parents and appears with them on the 1881, 1891 & 1901 census in Bubbenhall, Warwickshire.

It does look like them as the names & ages match.

It looks like I made the mistake of putting her correct place of birth in the search! I shall be more wary in future.
