Looking for birth and Parents of

George Orkney, born about  1815 in Aytown Berwicksire
he worked from 1841in St Cuthberts , address
Northfield Cottage Bonnington Road, Stockbridge
where he also married and raised his family, his Occupation was a gardner
any info greatly appreciated

Hi,

I have found this one on the BVRI. It is giving this as a birth date with no Christening given which is unusual Undecided

George Orkney 22 July 1811 Ayton Berwick
Parents were James Orkney and Elizabeth Pringle
FHL Film 103209 +

Hope this helps, there are siblings if you would like them let me know.

Is this of any use?

Ayton MI dated 1998 by Border FHS.
249.  In memory of James Orkney feur at Ayton who died 22.1.1869 aged 91 years.  Also Elisabeht Pringle his wife who died 26.8.1845 aged 60 years.  Also their children Ann Orkney died 21.2.1827 aged 15 years.  John Orkney died 24.6.1841 aged 22 years.  Elizabeth Orkney died 16.3.1867 aged 58 years.  Isabella Orkney  died 22.11.1866 aged 59 years.  Also George Orkney died 28.10.1874 aged 65 years.  John Orkney died 9.11.1891 aged 70 years.

1861 Ayton.  Road to Edinboro.
James Orkney  H  82  Proprietor of House  Ayton.
Elizabeth  Dau  52  Housekeeper               Ayton.
Alice Weatherson  G.daughter  16              Ayton.

Would Just like to say thanks to the help and info you gave me I have found a Marriage on IGI for James and Elizabeth, and going through the census's
Records on ancestry I think possibly a brother or two for James, it also looks like Georges body was brought from his home in Edinburgh to Ayton to be buried with his parents and siblings,

will Keep you posted to anything else i find
