Thanks Sue!

Yes, I do have the 1841 census entry.  In fact, it is he DOWLING line that I am interested in and trying to prove that Susan (Susannah) DOWLING (Nee GILES) was my husband's gt gt grandmother.

I am following up the GILES family leads in the hope of finding a clue somewhere.  If I can find out who Susan's parents were and the possible baptisms of other siblings, I may be able to follow them up in the hope of breaking down my brick wall.

Susan GILES was clearly married to a Mr DOWLING, but I cannot find a wedding.  I have tried to follow up her chidlren, but keep hitting brick walls.

I have John GILES marriage on Free BMD, so will order the cert to establish who his parents were and to investigate the witnesses.

I could still have the wrong family!  Oh well Huh

Best wishes from Munich
