This site has been recommended by Keith Sherwood Smiley

Hi,
I've just done a search on Google putting in the word "Ickleton", which brought up a wonderful website<

www.ickletonvillage.co.uk

On this if you click on "Photo Archive" you get a list of nearly 80 photos, which you can view, some as early as 1879; a Joseph Baynes proudly poses in a bright red military uniform.  No pictures of what I wanted, but there are some wonderful snaps from the past there - Saxon Lodge does actually appear in the distance in a couple of them.  Maybe other villages have similar excellent sites.
Keith

Thanks Keith !

The Cambridgeshire Association for Local History website contains a page on The Conduit, an annual publication on Cambs organisations on archaeology, archives, local studies, local history, family and social history, including local museums and archives.  The page includes a link to the current issue as a pdf file and this includes descriptions of and websites &/or e-mail addresses for all of the organisations -

http://www.calh.org.uk/conduit.htm

their links page also contains a lot of these links, and some others -
