There is a WW1 Honour Roll that is in the village church at Chacombe, Northants. It refers to a relative of mine who died in WW1 at Loos. It reads: For God For King For Country Pte Reginald Sewell Ox & Bucks LI Loos Sept 1915
Ernest Reginald Webb Sewell, was born 9th November 1895, in Bletchington, Bicester, Oxford and is the illegitimate son of Ada Fanny Sewell Ada was born 1872, Chacombe, Banbury. He is listed in the 1901 census as the grandson of Lucy Sewell, (the mother of Ada Fanny Sewell.): Lucy Sewell Head Widow Age 66 Own Means Northamptonshire, Chalcombe. Rose Dennis G? Daughter Age 7 Born; London, Paddington Reginald Sewell G? Son Age 5 Born; Oxford
I can not find his death in the casualty records for WW1, Loos or in the Quarterly returns for Deaths in England, nor can find any medals awarded to him of any kind? I have searched the Commonwealth War Graves Commission too without sucess.
Any help would be appreciated Bram Taylor Australia

His grandmother may not have known his exact age - Oxford as a birthplace might mean Oxfordshire, so this may work: Name: Sewell, Ernest Reginald W Record Type: Births Quarter: December Year: 1895 District: Bicester County: Buckinghamshire Oxfordshire Volume: 3a Page: 805

Thanks for that, any further asistance would be appreciated as this one is proving to be a bit of a problem. I still can not locate him! I have sent for the above certificate, hopefully it might throw up something?
