My Hayward family come from Beaminster in Dorset but I have only been able to get as far back as William Hayward who married Mary Collins in Beaminster on 23/2/1819. He was buried in Beaminster on 1/6/1838 and his name was given as William Helyar Hayward in the burial record. His date of birth is c1796 but I cannot find any William Hayward births in the area around that date (or any marriages of Hayward/Helyar which I thought might have been his parents). There are Haywards in Bridport/ Allington around the late 1700's so that's another possible place of birth although the marriage gives his place of birth as Beaminster. Can anyone help me with this as I am stuck with my Hayward research until I find his parents. It would be great to hear from anyone with a Hayward/Beaminster connection too! Joan
