hi folks
sorry I haven't replied for a while. It is a slow process going through the books of inscriptions looking up all the references to a particular name - especially if the name is a popular local name!
bear with me and I get round to it sometime. (I work full time in my job).
The more specific you can be with dates and places the easier it would be for me.
Thanks

Hi revmother,

If you have a spare minute could you have a look and see if there's a headstone for a Richard McPicke/McPike aged 46 who died  in 1859? According to his Death cert he was buried in St Quivox churchyard.

He was a pauper so I'm not holding my breath  Roll Eyes

Cheers,
Derek.

Hi there, I'm looking for St Quivox churchyard info and came upon your posting of last year.
Is there a record of the death of a woman named Armstrong, death possibly from 1850?  This wasn't her real name but was given to replace her Italian name.
She was brought back to the area, and looked after, by the Oswald family after their butler, William McCrone, died en route from Italy.  This woman was his de facto Italian wife.
William McCrone was my GGGgrandfather.  His Scots son was illegitimate so there is no record other than family lore.
I'd be very grateful for a hand over this brick wall!
Regards, Kathryn
