hi folks sorry I haven't replied for a while. It is a slow process going through the books of inscriptions looking up all the references to a particular name - especially if the name is a popular local name! bear with me and I get round to it sometime. (I work full time in my job). The more specific you can be with dates and places the easier it would be for me. Thanks revmother

Hi there, I'm looking for St Quivox churchyard info and came upon your posting of last year. Is there a record of the death of a woman named Armstrong, death possibly from 1850? This wasn't her real name but was given to replace her Italian name. She was brought back to the area, and looked after, by the Oswald family after their butler, William McCrone, died en route from Italy. This woman was his de facto Italian wife. William McCrone was my GGGgrandfather. His Scots son was illegitimate so there is no record other than family lore. I'd be very grateful for a hand over this brick wall! Regards, Kathryn
