I am looking for a Thomas Brown born between 1893/1910 not really sure. He I think lived in Prestwick and his parents were John Brown (1873) and Margaret Wilson. His father John was originally from Ochiltree, Ayrshire and he died in Prestwick in 1938. Any info would be great.

Firstly, have you found the family in the 1901 census? If so, is Thomas there? It would help to narrow his birth date now. With the search options 1893 to 1906 (the last year possible), in Ayrshire alone, there's 44 matches. Do you have any of Thomas' siblings' births? As you probably know, Brown is a very popular name!

This may be the family in the 1901 Census, Thomas doesn't look to have been born by this point if we have the right family:
John Brown 28, grocer b. Ochiltree Margaret Brown 26, b. Stewarton, Ayrshire David Brown 7, b. Stewarton, Ayrshire Ann C Brown 5, b. Stewarton, Ayrshire Jessie Mcl Brown 1, b. Hamilton
Address: 55d Kildonan St, Old Monkland, Lanarkshire
Was the marriage of your John Brown and Margaret Wilson the one showing in Stewarton, Ayrshire in 1893?
Hopefully you can find his birth before the 1906 cut off for online birth cert. images on Scotlands People.
Regards.
Monica

Probably the correct family, Monica. There's a birth showing for John Brown, 5th March 1873 in Ochiltree with parents David Brown and Jessie McClannachan. There's also a birth for Margaret Wilson in Stewarton (28th June 1874) parents John Craig & Annie Craig.

There are 9 births of Thomas Browns in Old Monkland between 1901-06. Not too many but the family may have moved elsewhere in those years Only one birth in Prestwick in 1903 (between 1901-6).
