McInerney - Clare
« on: Thursday 19 April 07 06:10 UTC (UK) »

Is there any way of verifying a marriage in 1854.
All I have is the following.
James MCINERNEY to ELLEN O'/CONNOR/S 4 March 1854 Clare, Ireland.
(marriage place is noted as Clare, not Co. Clare- so hopefully this might narrow things down) I'm not even sure if marriage records are available or if they have been destroyed as well.

I have only just learned that my McInerney family were from Co Clare.

James McInerney was born abt 1810 Co. Clare(according to his age stated on his death certificate) He is listed as being 44 years old at time of marriage, again that makes his birth 1810 if he married in 1854.
His wife Ellen O'Connor/s was born abt 1832 (according to age on her death certificate)

They came to Australia and ended up in Victoria - time frame of 1851-1867.

All their children are said to have been born in Geelong Victoria, but the first one I have found on record is the 8th child, Michael George* b 1867.
Other children ( 14 in all) were:
Ellen, Mary, John, Bridget,Denis, Catherine,Margaret,(*), Daniel, Ann, Jane, Elizabeth, James and Alice.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Kind Regards
Karen
