Alice Eacock/Lacock/Laycock Baptism Help Please
« on: Friday 20 April 07 18:46 BST (UK) »

I am looking for the birth/baptism of Alice Eacock/Laycock/Lacock

Alice married William Oliver 20 November 1775 in Manea.

Alice died in 1830 in Manea with a given age of 73, making her birth c1757. If anyone can find Alice it would be much appreciated, have been at a stop on this one for longer than I care to remember!

I do have the children of Alice and William.

Sorry, I do not have any other information as to where this elusive lady came from.

Thank-you,

Frances

Miracles are instant, but the impossible.......!

As I'm sure you know Frances, there is a total of one Eacock in Cambs on the IGI, BVRI, and Cambs FHS indexes combined - your Alice!

There's nothing on A2A in Cambs - the closest is Suffolk where there are a few references.

I suppose the marriage entry has nothing useful added?

My only thought is to pursue the Suffolk angle to see if it leads anywhere - the IGI is a bit of a Heinz for Eacocks in Suffolk - there are 57 varieties.

Good luck

Hi David,

Thanks for trying the impossible!

Yes, as you have guessed I have put this lady into every database I could think of, GR came up with a match but it turned out to be in 1899 in Birmingham.

I have not yet seen the original marriage entry, I think I will see if anyone has access to the register or is visiting the Cambridge Record Office.

Thanks for making me smile with your reply.
