Does anyone have access to the above offices archive.


Sessions books, Calendars of Prisoners 1870 - 1882 Ref Q/SMc 10

Draft Process book of Indictments  Ref Q/SPb 38 1869 - 1881 
                                                        Q/SPb 39 1881 - 1882

I am looking for CAIN RICHARDSON b 1859 Sussex. Prisoner in 1881
? crime commited.

Dear Nellie,
                 This requires a visit I am afraid as these are original records (Quarter Sessions), so you may need to hire a professional researcher to go and do it for you.

Alternatively, the ERO has its own research service - from their website:

For a fee of £19 per hour, payable in advance, we can search parish registers, census returns and any other documentary or printed sources held in the Essex Record Office at Chelmsford, and microfiche and microfilm copies of parish registers held in Branch Offices.
