Hi I'm looking for Mary Ann(e) Woods born 1826 in Pidley, Hunts.
Her parents were John & Elizabeth.
regards Patricia

Nothing obvious in Hunts I'm afraid. Do you have her in subsequent censuses? What other information do you have on the family as there are no Woods burials in Pidley after 1598, so it seems as though the parents didn't stay there?

Hi David
I have her with her husband in 1851. ~~~~~~~~-------- 1851 census: HO 107 / 1749 Folio 143 page 30 Huntingdonshire
Pidley cum Fenton
Thomas HOBBS Head 26 Brickmaker Warboys, Huntingdon Mary HOBBs Wife 24 Pidley, Huntingdon Ann HOBBs Dau 6 Pidley, Huntingdon George HOBBs Son 3 Warboys, Huntingdon John HOBBs Son 1 Warboys, Huntingdon ~~~~~~~~------------------ From a previous posting it was thought that her name could have been Lancaster instead of Woods.

I asked for this Woods because I found a Mary Ann(e) Woods which fitted the right age on IGI. Maybe she was Lancaster.
regards Patricia

It was me who suggested her name might have been Lancaster, and someone else gave you details of Mary Lancaster in 1841.
I can't see a Mary Ann Woods on the IGI in Pidley - there's one in Fletton in 1827 which is 20 miles away.
The only sure way to prove who the mother was is to buy the birth certificate of one of Mary Ann Hobbs children, which will give the mother's maiden name. Until you have that everything else is pure speculation. I never place any reliance on what other people have in their trees - at least not until I've verified the information.
