I have some Sible Hedingham 'Wilding' information in my files. If you give me some more information about what you're after, I will see if I have anything relevant.

Regards Yvonne.

Hello Yvonne,

Thank you for your reply.  I am researching the Wilding family for a friend.  His materal grandfather was Stanley Gladwell who married Kate Wilding in 1917,  They had two daughters Lorna and Eunice and lived in Halstead.

I have traced the family back to 1841 but cannot get back any further.

Also have the names of the children of Walter and Mary up to 1901 but they not any children after that date.

Any informatiom would be helpful

Yvonne Harris

Hi,

I have just found your message about the Wildings of Sible Hedingham.  I have been researching this family (my husband's ancestors) and have got back a little further.  Walter and Mary (nee Boreham) Wilding were Kate's
parents.  Walter Wilding was a child of John and Mary (nee Mead) Wilding.

Hope this is of interest - you may have already got back this far.

Regards

Hi Ann,

Thanks for posting the information. I have the Wildings back to George Wilding and Ann Sutton who married 1777 in Borley if you are interested.

Regards Yvonne.

Hi Yvonne,

Thank you very much for replying.  I have got George and Ann at the top of my tree but cannot for the moment seem to get any further.  I have been thinking about a trip to Borley or even to the Suffolk Record Office - being so close to the Essex/Suffolk boundary but I have been concentrating on going sideways for the time being until I'm a bit clearer as to how to proceed.

Great speaking to you

Hi All,
I was interested in this posting, although my Wilding family are entirely separate. Have you ever seen the Foxearth site, which has extensive material on Borley and neighbourhood.
   http://www.foxearth.org.uk/
If you do trace your Wilding back to Suffolk, there an incredible group of Wilding researchers around, with material on the web etc; but avoid Ipswich Record Office, and aim for one of the better ones if planning on visiting the same.

Hi Kevan,

Thank you for suggesting the foxearth site.  Thanks also for the Ipswich Record Office tip.  Where else would you suggest?

Regards

Here are a few useful sites I have used in the past.
http://www.genealogy-links.co.uk/html/suffk.html & the Cosford database, which is brilliant for a particular area - http://www.cosford-database.co.uk/. There are links to many of the Wilding researchers from here too - see private researchers.
Finally, to discount my lot - see http://essex1841.com/Legacy/index.htm
