St Andrew's Bramfield - Memorial Photographs
« on: Saturday 21 April 07 20:34 UTC (UK) »

I'm just back from accompanying my Better Half on an annual bellringers outing in some Suffolk villages.  I got LOADS of photos of memorial inscriptions etc and views of the churches, interior and exterior.  St Andrew's Bramfield was the first stop and the very nice man who unlocked the church for us had some very interesting information about parish records.  I won't trumpet the news on here as he looked worried when I suggested it.  So if anyone has any interest in this parish, let me know by personal message and not on this thread and I'll tell you what treasure is to be found there!  In the meantime, I'll be sorting out and uploading some of the pictures I took.

regards,

Lizzy  Cool

There's quite a lot of detail on this one for the Gokes.  It's a posh memorial right up close to the altar so the Gokes were evidently a family of the first importance locally.

Mrs Bridgett Nelson - maybe it was the blood-letting that finished her off?  I think there might have been more originally of this flagstone but if so it's disappeared under the altar steps.

The detached bell tower - my bellringing OH tells me this is very unusual.
