I am looking for a William Bryson Thompson, who may have used an alias William Bryson. Believed to be born in Paisley c. 1829. Had a brother James and mother, Ellen. Came to Australia in 1843. Any help appreciated. Sharkey

I tried to find the family in the 1841 census, but could not find any conclusive match.
At 16 John Street, High parish, Paisley, there was the following family:
John Thomson, 50, silk hand loom weaver, born in Renfrewshire Archibald Thomson, 15, born in Renfrewshire William Thomson, 13, born in Renfrewshire James Thomson, 11, born in Renfrewshire
Justin I have just "rediscovered" rootschat. Thanks for your reply on Bryson/Thompson.
I believe my William Thompson may be the William Bryson who was in Paisley Prison, a 20 year old Dyer at the time of the 1841 census. he was eventually transported to Australia as William Thompson.
Is there a family anywhere on the census with a mother Ellen (either Bryson or Thompson) and a brother James, born about 1815-1825.
