Corsock Hill - Corse Hill
« on: Friday 27 April 07 00:12 BST (UK) »

Can anyone help.
Have two sisters, Sarah and Agnes Clingan, spinsters dying and being buried in Kirkpatrick Durham church yard.
However, they appear on two different memorial stones, both stones in same area of ground and both show same Grandparents, parents and dates are reasonably accurate.
My problem is one stone shows they died at Corsock Hill and other stone shows them having died at Corsehill.
Deaths certs show them at Corsehill.
Can anyone tell me if a mistake had been made with Corsock Hill or are they one and the same place?
Regards
Ian

Hi Ian,

I would guess that Corsehill and Corsock Hill are one and the same place. Did a search on google and there were no results for "corsock hill" at all.

There's a Corse Hill about 12km NW of Corsock.  Take a look on www.streetmap

Thanks both for replies. It has answered my question and put the two names slap bang in the area that I,m looking at for rest of family.
Thanks again for your help.
