There's an Amelia [Amaleia] Rossiter born in 1842 at Midsomer Norton Somerset living there with her parents Thomas [age 37] born at Birager & Mary [38] born at Wells; the following children are also listed John [5]; Martha[2]; Sarah Ann [14]; & Soloman [11].
In the 1861 Amelia Jane  Rossiter born in 1842 at Midsomer Norton Somerset is working as a servant in Midsomer Norton.

Wonder if they died before 1841? Do you have access to the BVRI at all?

Maybe you could dig up a marriage record or perhaps birth records.

I was wondering if Amelia was their only child or not.

the only rossiters born in bedminster are much later in date than 1840's do you have amelia on any cencuses?

there is no amelia jane rossiter in the birth indexes between 1839 and 1843 anywhere sorry

Hi alli,

Found an Amelia Rossiter on FreeBMD born  in the September Qtr of 1845 at Bedminster. May be the 5 was badly transcribed as a 2. What do you think?

Thanks for that. I think that is a different girl. Looks like her parents are James Rossiter & Susannah Organ. I've searched for him before but never found out who his father was.
