I have a death certificate for a relative who died in Derby in 1859, it says that there was a coroners inquest held, and gives the name of the coroner and the exact date of the inquest, just wondered if these records would still exist and where I might find them?
Very few Coroner's records survive, but you could always try the County Record Office. Your best bet will be to look for an account in the local newspaper, they are usually as informative as any records you may find.
Good luck Jebber
