Hmmm... I'm not so sure now, because I've just found this birth which matches "Mary E":
Births Dec 1882 (>99%) LEE Mary Elizabeth Stamford 7a 331
Was she definitely Mary Ellen? Do you have her marriage cert, which would give her father's name?

Tried "Mary Helen" - bingo!
Births Mar 1884 (>99%) LEE Mary Helen Stamford 7a 344
Now why isn't she showing up on census....?

1) She might be married 2) she moved to a different part of the country 3) she was mistranscribed 4) she was misenumerated eg Leigh not Lee 5) she was missed altogether 6) she'd moved away from home and was a servant somewhere 7) which censuses can't you find her on?

I CANT FIND HER ON ANY CENSUS. SHE MARRIED IN 1902 IN STAMFORD, WAS BORN THERE. SHE DIDNT MOVE AWAY UNTIL WELL AFTER THIS TO WALES.

If you buy the 1902 marriage cert you will find her father's name. If you buy the birth cert that the Manchester Rambler found you get both her parents. With more names you might find her in the censuses
