1901 Census - Fishlock
« on: Friday 04 May 07 16:25 BST (UK) »

Request a lookup in 1901 census for Edward Fishlock born Marshfield about 1866.   He married in Jun quarter 1891.   I'm trying to trace his wife and any children they might have had.   Many thanks, Dave

It looks very much like them, Barbara, but how did they get to Lancashire?   I'm having a blitz on my Marshfield relatives at the moment and luckily there aren't too many Fishlocks about.   I'll be starting on the Beazers soon.  Smiley

Hi,
I know that this may be an old thread but I have this Edward Fishlock in my family tree. To explain, Edward and Maria Fishlock moved fron Colne to Wigan where Maria died in 1907. Edward then went on to marry Mary Barlow nee Aspey (my Great Grandmother) in 1910. After she died in 1919, Edward seems to have gone back to Bath where he died in 1952.

Hope this is of some help...

Best wishes.

John Barlow.

Hi John,
I can only guess that he moved from Wiltshire/Gloucestershire looking for work.   Quite a common thing then for ag labs to move from the country to the newly industrialized cities hoping to make their fortune.
Merry Xmas, Dave
