Ivy LANGDON

Help!
This is driving me mad.  I have  the following in the 1901 census:

James Langdon Head 60 St Teath Carter
Eliza Langdon Wife 60 St Endellion
John Langdon Son 21 St Teath
Samuel Langdon Son 18 St Teath
Russell Langdon  Son 12 St Teath
Ivy Langdon Gr Daughter 7 St Teath
Eliza Prout Widow 32 St Teath
Frederic Prout 4 Gr Son St Teath
Richard Prout 3 Gr Son St Teath
Samuel Prout 0 Gr Son St Teath

My Grandfather always said Ivy was my Father's Aunt.  Was she the daughter of Eliza and her husband, Frederick,  before they were married?  Their marriage is recorded as 1896.  I can find no trace of Ivy as a Prout or as a Langdon.

I know that relationships change from census to census.  Russell Langdon is previously recorded as a Grandson.  Who is Ivy?  She must have survived long enough for my Grandfather to talk about "Aunt Ivy"

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Annie.

I have just looked at the 1901 census for that entry and I see that the family is living in Pengelly next door to my family of Annie and Isaac Warne......

Perhaps Eliza married again and all the children took her new name. I know that there were a lot of Langdons and Prouts in Delabole when I visited my Grandma there in the 1960s. Joyce Langdon I think was one.

Hi,

I see in 1901 they are in the Camelford Registration District, I found this marriage which may be Ivy,

Ivy F LANGDON    Dec Q    1912    Camelford    v.5c  p.23
William PARSONS is the groom.

Thanks, Daisy,
I am having a job with this one!  My Grandfather always spoke of her as a sister, but she is listed as Langdon and he as Prout.  I have looked on free bmd and can't find  a birth for Ivy that fits, under either name.
Regards,
Annie.

Perhaps you need to get the marriage cert and see if her father is named.

There was a daughter Beatrice who married in 1893 and died in 1895. Perhaps she had a daughter called Ivy who went to live with her maternal grandparents and took the name Langdon.

Hi, Fizzy,
It looks like Beatrice married a Samuel Lee.   I can not find a birth record of an Ivy Lee.  Perhaps she was the daughter of one of Beatrice's brothers.
Regards,
Annie.
