I asked for help after My Photo was restored .
Berlin Bob kindly summarized the Help Tips received.

However , I have tried every method and get as far as getting the Icon in MY Pictures File
When I click on the icon get an Error box with file address and "paint(or Windows and Fax Viewer) cannot read this file. This is not a valid bitmap file or its format is not currently supported"
Can anyone helpfurther Please

I have just attempted to download and open without a problem.
So if we start again.
1 Open relevent thread in rootschat
2 right click on photo
3 from drop down box that opens - click on "save photo as"
4 click okay without changing from jpeg or filename - which should be index
you should now be able to open it in any of your prog's

Indi has kindly sent me a copy via e-mail, which is great, but must try to get this fixed myself.or will feel unable to ask for other restortions..

just a blank space on both Viewer and paint..no error box even!!
A real techy problem , obviously on my computer.

Getting back to my Roots.

If you've managed to get your photo into 'My Pictures'....try RIGHT clicking the photo....in the menu that appears, click on 'Open With'....in that menu, click on 'Windows Picture and Fax Viewer'.....see if that opens it.....

Indi was taking me through various options in the Chat Room last night( until exhaustion Overcame me)!
