COMPLETED Parish Registers - Roper
« on: Sunday 06 May 07 08:09 UTC (UK) »

Hi,
I would like some information on the family of my gt-gt-grandfather, Thomas Roper born 1812 in Travstave  Fermanagh. That's all I have - I don't know his parents names, or if he had any siblings.
I do know he married in Paisley, Renfrew Scotland in 1835 and came to Ballarat, Victoria around 1847, but it would be nice to have some information on him as that side of the family looks very skimpy!
Kind regards
Bev

Hi Jemmifer,
As you say there are not many Ropers in Ireland, but since that topic I have found out he was born in Irvinestown Fermanagh, but that was in 1811/12 and as your gt-gt wasn't born till 1836, perhaps they may be of the same family. Anyway, it gives me another avenue to chase up and I will let you know if I get anything out of it.
Kind regards
Bev
