Hi,

I have a relative called Arthur Grainger who, in 1887, left Manchester for New York on the SS Wisconsin.

I do not know what happened to him after he reached New York as I have been unable to find any trace of him.

Can anyone please help me!?!

I've found him on the passenger list.  I don't know if you already have this;

Est Birth Year: 1853
Age: 34
English
Ship Name: Wisconsin

I have looked on the census but it is quite hard to do this without knowing where he was born or who he married!

Yes that is him.  He was born in Warrington, Lancashire / Manchester

The family tree belongs to another Grainger, a previously un-known relative, who has already shared his knowledge of the Graingers.  Between us we are now trying to fill in the gaps.

I found the ships list a few days ago and have printed out a copy for my own reference, but thanks anyway!

The information i am trying to find is more about what happened to him after he reached America.  I have been unable to find anything and am hoping that a fresh pair of eyes might do the trick.
