This is good stuff, I have a picture of him but dont know how to post it but it is a great picture. He is old with a Disraeli beard, some poeple have said i look like him 'sans' beard though. Funny as the family are still fairly close to where he lived even now . Just wish i knew where he is buried as i would like to visit his grave.

Hi Bobbyg

In case you don't have it, here's what is probably the reference for his death certificate. Looks like he died in Stoke on Trent rather than having gone off to London or something like that..

JUL - SEP QUARTER
Stoke Upon Trent  6b 126
Age at Death:    82

Aha, a ripe old age too. From what i am finding out with these links he was concerned with nature as much as helping the conditons of the poor in Stoke. Sounds someone to be proud of.

OOh cheers Milly. The last three are him as his wife is Emma but think the first is someone else as he was born in 1808 not 1811. Wonder who the first chap is? Anyway RG is definitely coming alive now. Surprising how much stuff there is about him. Are there church records of burials as looks like he ended up in stoke itself rather than Longton. They were probably still seperate entities at this time?
