I am trying to find
Alexander Bain and Catherine Matheson married about 1830's

There are two on the IGI but not sure which is mine or if they are

Their daughter Margaret Hannah Bain was born Highfield Ross Shire 1839

                 I have Bains in my tree I have a Alexander married to a Catherine He was born in 1810 her in 1827 in Rosshire

Could you say where you found the reference to Margaret Hannah Bain. My refs sources only list one who had a father, Alexander:

9 December 1841 to Alexander Bain and Margaret Mackenzie, Dingwall

and only one in 1839

Margrat Bain to John Bain and Ann Fraser, Kiltearn

Neither match your details  Undecided

Also, I've just checked the marriage entries. I think they refer to the same couple. They are banns which are read 3 times in the parish of both partners before they marry. One of them lived Kilearnan and one Urquhart & Logie Wester.

So what you say is that the entries on the IGI are the same couple but different areas?

Gender: Female Marriage: 24 DEC 1830 Killearnan, Ross And Cromarty, Scotland

2. CATHARINE MATHESON - International Genealogical Index / BI
Gender: Female Marriage: 24 DEC 1830 Urquhart And Logie Wester, Ross And Cromarty, Scotland



Their daughter Margaret Hannan Bain is my ancestor born  1833


22. MARGARET BAIN - International Genealogical Index / BI
Gender: Female Christening: 10 MAY 1833 Urray, Ross And Cromarty, Scotland


I have been told the other children (I will confirm) by IGI to be
Alexander 1832  Christina 1835 Catherine 1837 Wynie 1840  Mary Ann 1848

Hi,

Do you by any chance have a Margaret Bain with father Alexander Bain and Margaret Munro?  Margaret Bain baptised 14 Apr 1779 in Dingwall.

Also do you have a Margaret Bain marrying a James Mackenzie on 18 Sept 1801 in Cromarty?

I am trying to trace a McKenzie (Mackenzie??) line and have come to this James McKenzie as a likely prospect.

This James and Margaret had a daughter Margaret born in 1805 baptised in Cromarty.

 ::)Hello there - I, too, am searching for a Bain/Mackenzie union.

John Mackenzie married a Lidia (Ledia) Bain, b.21 May 1781 - I think it may have been Tain, Ross & Cromarty.

Hope someone out there can help.
