Bedford Record Office Closed on Thursday's

Hi All

It has only just come to my notice that Beds R.O. have been closing on a Thursday for
over a year now.

The reason I am listing this here is because the Bedford Central Library do not
hold any Parish Records at the premises after 1812 ( they said - lack of space)
so the only source to view them at is the one listed above.

I know that for Family Historians like ourselves it would be more beneficial for
the Parish Records to be in both places as when the Record
Office is closed on Thursday's and Saturday's you are not able to
view them and therefore may waste valuable time and monies.

I myself have always had nothing but good support and assistance from the
Bedfordshire Record Office for many years.

They do that, because they open until 7pm  on a Monday

Not sure why you put the link above as it does not say about opening hours which is
something I discussed yesterday with a person at the Record Office.

When did you sneak in the link or am I having more senior moments than I thought.  Smiley

The link was there when I posted the reply.

If you page down past the three sets of maps it tells you Opening Hours  

Don't worry about it,
