 Grin
Is Bonneybridge far from Camelon and is it near water? Was it a big town in the mid 80s ?

Take a look at:

www.streetmap.co.uk

Very useful site for identifying locations.  Current spelling is Bonnybridge.

Hello Ann,

Bonnybridge and Camelon are almost side by side. If you key the name into Google or whatever Search Engine you use, you'll come up with quite a few sites. IGNORE THE UFO ONES!!

Unfortunately, it's also well known as being a UFO hot-spot!!

For a bit of history, try:

http://www.falkirklocalhistorysociety.co.uk/home/index.php?id=62

As for it being near water - what exactly do you mean? The 'Bonny Water', a small river runs through it, the Forth & Clyde canal runs right through the centre, The River Carron is a short distance away and then there's the River Forth further east leading into the North Sea at Grangemouth, and not forgetting umpteen reservoirs etc.!

As Imber said, why not have a look at a few maps and you'll get a better idea from that.

Anne

There is countryside for the two miles between Camelon and Falkirk. The Bonny Water that flows through Bonnybridge then flows into the River Carron and then into the River Forth.
