Does anyone have access to the Frocester parish records? I am looking for the burial of Mary Hopton between 1764 and 1775.

Hi Anne
I've just checked and it looks like my local library has a copy of Frocester Parish records. Unfortunately (for you, but definitely not for me ) I'm just about to go away for a week......
However, if no-one else gets the information for you before I get back, I'll have a look next week.
If you haven't heard anything before next Friday(27th) please drop me a PM....
I'll be back!
Best wishes
Angela

Oh, fantastic Angela! That helps to firm up my husband's paternal line back to before 1600! Not all my work I hasten to add, I was lucky enough to link into someone else's years of research with William.
Do you think you could look for a baptism of Mary Hayward, around 1736. She lived in Frocester at the time of her marriage to William Hopton and I am hoping she was baptised there.
I also have two missing marriages in the area, George Martin to a Sarah around 1750 and his father Richard Martin also to a Sarah around 1710. I don't have any real reason to think they might have been in Frocester, but would be grateful if you could check.
Many thanks again.
Anne

Hi Anne
I'm so glad that helps to fit things onto place! I'm more than happy to have a look for the others you mention when I go back, hopefully next week. The library has records for Berkeley ,Coaley, Dursley, Elmore, Frocester, Longney, Nympsfield, Owlpen, Painswick, Quedgeley, Rodborough, Sapperton, Stonehouse & Stroud (a bit of a random selection) so I can check any of those that might be appropriate.
Best wishes
Angela

Thanks Angela. I've got the Hoptons taped now as regards the essentials. The Martins lived in Slimbridge but I've no idea where their brides might have come from, or where they were before Slimbridge. I leave it to your discretion and local knowledge.

That's fine Anne.
I'll have a bit of a ferret around with the records the library has. If they're not there, it mights mean a trip to the Record Office. I'll have to go there at some point before long, but not too sure when. I'll keep you posted
