having had great sucess in tracing my mothers family I am now embarking on my fathers. Surname Smith, all I have so far is:

Alexander Smith Milngavie m Marion Caulderwood/Calderwood Dunbarton their children:

Agnes Smith c 1920 Milngavie, Alexander Smith 1924 Milngavie, Robert Bruce Smith 1929 great Bookham Surrey, James and Margaret Smith (twins) c 1931 born England possibly Surrey but now in Hornchurch Essex. Marions dad was James a hairderesser, mother not known/remembered by family. can anyone help please

Hi,

Did a search on Scotlands People for their marriage.

Alexander Smith to Marion Caulderwood (used soundex on caulderwood) and there is a marriage in Milngavie in 1922. Didnt have any credits to check what the spelling of Caulderwood was.

If this was yours you can get the image and it would give you both of their parents names ( scottish certs have more information than English ones)

In addition to above...did the search again with the soundex off and its an Alexander Smith to a Marion CALDERWOOD
