Digging up the dead and annoying the living...

It is not a program that I had heard of before, so perhaps others could comment on it, but here is a link to their website in case it is of some interest.

Thank you John & Prue, I'll go on the site and see if I can download iCab.
I know I'm out of date, but unless I can run my machine as a dual-boot system, if I upgrade to any version of OSX, I'll have to upgrade all my software and some of my hardware - ouch, megabucks...!

Again, thank you Prue for the pleasure you give us with your work on this site.
I had not visited for some time and have just spent a pleasant hour looking at some of the offerings.
Each time I look at these old pictures I am filled with admiration for the seamstresses who produced the wonderful clothes worn by the women, but tonight I was thinking how interesting it would be to go to a lecture where someone demonstrated the large variety of neckwear for the men, complete with the accompanying garments. I am unable to envision how some of the arrangements are applied. Fascinating.

Thanks Beth and quests
Quests, you are more than welcome to add the site as a link from your own page In fact I should probably do the same with my personal site.
Beth - I hear you! As one who has little patience even with machine sewing, it boggles my mind to think of the seamstresses and dressmakers who made all these beautiful concoctions! As for mens' neckwear, it's always the celluloid collars and bibs that get me. Imagine wearing something that stiff and hard and plasticcy around your sweaty neck!!!!!

Prue,
As one who was a student nurse in the days of heavily starched uniforms I do not need to imagine, I know. I thought the constant abrasion I wore on my neck would scar me for life. However, it did eventually heal and disappear.

Thankyou so much Prue, What a fantastic display of photographs. I really appreciate the time and effort you must have spent on it. I have several old photos of my great grandparents that I will let you have, they are just sat in a drawer here, much better for them to be viewed. Best Wishes Lincsbabe

Hi Lincsbabe
Thanks for your kind words - yes, it was an effort, but I enjoyed every minute
I'll happily add your g-grandparents to the site if you would like me to...but why don't you start your own website and put the photos on there with others of your family?
Cheers Prue

I'm waiting patiently to get some webspace on Roots chat to post photos and also I have transcriptions of Cemetary headstones that may interest/be of help for the Bangor and surrounding district in Gwynedd. I usually use Front page or MSN Publisher but recently came across this html programme http://www.pagebreeze.com/ It looks a really easy programme that may be of use to members of Roots chat that are thinking of starting a website.
