Just to let you know that the Cheshire Parish Registers 1538-1907, hundreds of them, are available to browse on the Family Search pilot site. Absolutely fabulous resource for anyone with an interest in Cheshire.

Hi Mike
Don't worry about not getting it, its not that easy first time. Try this link and see if it works.
http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#w=;p=2;c=1469935;t=browsable
If it doesn't - click on the Europe part of the world map on the Family Search pilot site and then click on Cheshire, Church of England Records 1538-1907. You will then be presented with a list of parishes, scroll down until you come to the one you want and then click Parish Records which should be displaying on the right hand side. Look for the year and type of record you are seeking and then you will have to work your way through the copies of the original records until you come to the date you are looking for.
I've managed to find a load of my husband's side in Burton and Bebington and demolished one brick wall on my side in Parkgate. It really is an amazing resource.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Ruby

Hi Mike
Glad to find somebody as excited as me at this information. Consider myself very lucky to have Cheshire ancestors. Fortunately I am recently retired so I have spent most of the last 4 days just glued to the computer!
Now the bad news - the site is closed 7th and 8th October for upgrading, so I'd save my sickie for the 9th :-)
Regards
Ruby
