At the bottom of the RootsChat home page is a section Upcoming Calendar,
with two sub-sections: Upcoming Birthdays and Upcoming Events 

Clicking on an upcoming event will take you to the relevant topic,
and if you want to plan ahead, just click on the icon to the left (a clock) and see the whole calendar.

Hope this helps for the next event ...
