1891 Look up please - Abbott of West Ham
« on: Sunday 21 August 05 13:27 UTC (UK) »

Hi everyone, can some kind person please look up a family for me?
Charles Abbott and A E Abbott (Annie Elizabeth).  They would be aged about 34 and 33.  In 1881 they were living at 73 Chapel Street, W Ham and in 1901 they were at 26 Lavender Street W Ham.  Just wondered where they were in 1891 !

Thats great !  Thanks CP.  I have the birth of Annie on 1881/1901 as Shipdham, could this be your Yaxham !!??  Also Sidney's second name was 'Faithorn', I haven't delved into the Abbotts yet but maybe thats where Faithorn comes from.

Yaxham, Shipdham are not far apart.
Both Mitford registration district.

Yes, could be Sidney Faithorn, with a little imagination.

yes it is Sidney Faithorn, he was named after a C of E vicar Sidney faithorn Green who was jailed for disobeying his bishop over forms of service, there were quite a few children named after him - which does not help my one name study :-)

cheers

Thanks Simon for the information, we were wondering where on earth the family found a name like that!  Having said that the Rev. was Cof E., our Sidney Faithorn Abbott's parents were very much Catholic and are both buries in St. PAtrick's RC cemetery in Leytonstone, London.

Thanks again
