Hi,
Could anyone help with the info on Andrew and Jane Lavender who moved from the Poole area of Dorset to Great Elm in Somerset in the early 1800,s.
They had at least one child with them, Ann born in 1806 in Poole, Dorset.
They had at least two more children in Great Elm,
Mary, 1811.
Lydia, 1812.

Hi,
We have visited Marston Bigot, and looked around the church where they were married. It is in a beautiful setting and is a large church for the size of the hamlet. The reason for the size of the church becomes apparent as you walk through the churchyard and enter a lane, at the end of the lane there is a very large house.
We looked around the grounds which were very extensive, and could only imagine that Lydia may have worked here, and was probably married from there.
