M.I's St Augustine's Hedon
« on: Friday 25 May 07 11:53 BST (UK) »

Is there anybody who could lokk up the following--

Ellen White who died on July 9th 1888, Lambert House, Hedon and her husband (same place)

William Thomas White who died April 12th 1888.

Ellen would have been about 60.

Ellen's mother Esther Bennison may also have been buried at St Augustine's. She died in 1887 in the

Mar.1/4 aged about 89.

Many thanks

The MI reads:

"In loving memory of WILLIAM THOMAS WHITE who died 12th April 1888 aged 65 years. Also of ELLEN his wife who died 9th July 1888 aged 59 years"

This is from a booklet issued by the FHS and , helpfully, gives the PR entry:

1888 Apr 15 William Thomas White, Lambert House, Hedon  65
1888 July 11 Ellen White, Lambert House, Hedon  59.

So,it doesn't really tell you anything you didn't already know - often the case with MIs.

There's only one Bennison entry and unfortunately it's not your Esther. Here it is, in case it fits in somewhere:

"In loving memory of GEORGE HENRY BENNISON born May 18th 1853 died March 8th 1891. In affectionate remembrance of FLORENCE MARY widow of GEORGE HENRY BENNISON died March 31st 1898 aged 42 years."

And the PRs:
1891 Mar 13 george Henry Bennison, Worthing  37
1898 April 5 Florence Mary Bennison, 10 Collingworth Terrace, Westgate on Sea  42

Thanks Jillruss. Although it doesn't tell me anything more of the Wm. White family it does tell me to

look maybe back at Bridlington where Esther Bennison's husband John died in 1854
